Leaders who regulate themselves effectively rarely verbally attack others, make rushed or emotional decisions, or stereotype people. Instead, they’ll take the time to reflect on their viewpoints before making impulsive statements or actions, and will employ methods that will, in the long run, provide much more positive results. 



  1. Motivation: Emotionally intelligent leaders are usually very self-motivated, ready to defer immediate results for long-term success. They are highly productive, love a challenge, and are very effective in whatever they undertake. A highly motivated leader tends to cascade this feeling towards their followers, and can often lead to a much better culture in the workplace. 



  1. Empathy: This is perhaps the most critical element of EQ for leaders. An empathetic leader can put themselves in someone else's shoes. It helps in managing a diverse team and better understanding clients' needs and reactions.



  1. Social Skills: Leaders with strong social skills are good at managing relationships, communicating clearly, inspiring and influencing others, and managing conflict.
